Under the government's rural electrification programme, REA awarded Muchinda two Grid Extension Project contracts under the 2018/2019 REA work plan. Both were completed several weeks ahead of schedule.
Scope of works
- Construction of overhead lines targeting 40 new service connections
- Fiwila Grid Extension Project, Mkushi District, Central Province
- Sakania Grid Extension Project, Mufulira/Ndola Districts, Copperbelt Province
Outcome
REA's recommendation letter (30 December 2019) confirms both projects were completed professionally and to specification: the Fiwila Grid Extension Project at a cost of K922,897.62, and the Sakania Grid Extension Project at a cost of K876,376.58.
